Video Hook

Definition

The opening 1-3 seconds of a video that captures attention and stops the scroll. The single most important element for short-form video performance.

Users decide to watch or scroll within 1-3 seconds. Hooks that work: surprising stats ("You waste 520 hours per year on..."), bold claims ("This doubled my revenue"), curiosity gaps ("Why do 90% of startups get this wrong?"), and visual pattern interrupts. In Orange, every script template leads with the hook by default.
